MIT school of fine arts and Applied arts offering Field visit, study tour, and workshop course in fine arts academic. Aurangabad is a historic city in Maharashtra and surrounded by many historical monuments, including the Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and our students will study it in many aspects. Last Week of November 2021. (23 Nov 2021 to 27 Nov 2021) Mostly known for its exquisite temples and centuries old, culturally rich monuments, Ajanta and Ellora can be touted as India’s museum of sculpture and artistic heritage. A troupe of 45 students comprising of BFA and MFA Painting students and 5 faculties were taken to Aurangabad to study, acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of art forms and how Indian art has maintained its distinct character. This tour is part of the academic curriculum to get acquainted with different Indian arts and Indian painting and understand the synthesis of various traditions and its development as an ongoing process. The Students interacted with the Archaeological guide and tried to grasp techniques, Styles and implement them in their artwork. They observed and acknowledged about the fresco and tempera paintings made over a Prepared Wall. All the students Draw and paint on the spot architectural beauty. They collected information regarding their culture, history and their lifestyle. IDS proved to be an important experience providing several unique learning opportunities and help students to build a better understanding of design and practicing of different art forms, both on a grassroots level or on industrial scale.
